Double Victory for Bengal Dragons Foundation at FAW Grassroots Awards 2025
We are thrilled to share that Bengal Dragons Foundation has won the FAW Together Stronger Award 2025 and our very own Nazrul Islam has been named Volunteer of the Year at this year’s Football Association of Wales Regional Grassroots Football Awards!
The awards were presented by Welsh football legend Danny Gabbidon, making the moment even more special for our team and community.
The Together Stronger Award recognises organisations that are using football as a vehicle to support economic, social, environmental, and cultural well-being, contributing to a stronger and more inclusive Cymru. From grassroots youth development and refugee engagement, to environmental action and health & wellbeing programmes, our work across Newport and the wider Gwent region continues to show that football can be a powerful force for good.
Adding to the celebrations, Nazrul Islam, one of our longest-serving and most committed members, was honoured with the Volunteer of the Year Award. Naz has played an instrumental role in our journey, mentoring young players, organising community football sessions, and giving countless hours to projects that bring people together through sport.
“We’re humbled and proud to receive national recognition for the work we’re doing in our communities. This is a win for our entire team, our partners, and everyone we serve. And a special congratulations to Nazrul, a true grassroots hero.”
